It's snowing...go figure! It started snowing around 9:00 am this morning and now here it is 9:30 pm and we probably have at least 5 inches and are supposed to be getting more. I'd post pictures but seriously, you can only look at a Minnesota Snow Storm so many times...they all look the same I promise! Hope all is well with all of you. I'll be sending out Christmas cards soon and will post outtakes from our Christmas Card Photo Shoot :)
Love, Jarrod & Vesta
Our Baby Girl Nynaeve-y (pronounced Nynevee) passed away last night after more than five years in our family :( She lived with us in our apartment...traveled to the Mobile Home with us in the back of the Wagner's van and moved to our new house with us in the front seat of my car. She watched about 15 other fish come and go. I loved her very much...she was easy to take care of and fun to watch and had a great personality (for a fish). I miss her already and the tank doesn't look the same without her. She got really skinny in the last few days and last night we watched her as she struggled to swim anymore and then finally took her last breath, she got stuck to the side of the air filter so it held her in place and she never floated to the top, which is good because I didn't want to see her do that. I know this probably sounds silly to most people who might be reading this but she was really my baby. Some people have their dogs and cats and I had my baby girl fish. We still have three other fish: Lemonade, Mad-Eye and Sucka, and I love them too, but they haven't been around as long so I'm not as attached and we probably won't get anymore after they are gone.
Wow, so I haven't updated this in awhile. Things are still going good. I've been busy back at school enjoying my Art History and Human Geography classes. We are getting ready for the main Paintball retreat in a few weeks, lots of preparation for that. Other than that pretty much everything is the same with us. They are re-doing the road in front of our house so our driveway and road and yard are ALL torn up!! J can't even get his car out of the garage :( We got a new fish, it's a sucker fish because our tank was horrifically dirty...his name is Sucka...That's what's new with us :)
The first three pics were taken by Bret Kepner, the race track photographer. Then there is a pic of me & J at the trac and three pics I took of J on the track. A pic the raceway sign and finally a pic of the $10 pants we had to rush to Dollar General to buy because we didn't know J had to wear long pants to race, so we had to buy him some pants at the last minute.
We went to the dells again...SUPER FUN!!! It's my new favorite place to vacation (Branson was my old favorite place, but it's to far away now and the Dells is like Branson anyway...) So I'll post pics soon!
(I know this is a really boring post...sorry)
Please pray for a good friend of mine who just turned 29, is pregnant with her second baby and just found out she has breast cancer! She has already started chemo. Her name is Courtney.
Here's the last of them...
Here is a sign telling about how the Dells came to be a tourist attraction
Here are some more pictures from one of the stops we made on the boat tour.
More pics from Witches Gulch, the bottom one is Witches Window.
Pics of Me & Jarrod in the Gulch
A cool rock Jarrod took some pics of
This is a really tall cliff and some guys sitting on the edge of the cliff
Here are some pictures from Day 2. We went on a Boat Tour of the Dells.
These are pictures of the boat we were on, our Captain (don't remember his name...Jerry maybe?) and our Tour Guide Summer (the only reason I remember her name is because Jarrod said "How come 'Summer's' are always blonde?)
This is actually a picture of a Jet Boat that we rode on Saturday. They told us when we bought the tickets that we might "get a little wet"...Jarrod was soaked to the bone by the time we were done...and it wasn't warm water either...
These are (in order from Top to Bottom, Right to Left) "Stack of Pancakes", "Toadstool", and "Chief Blackhawk"
This is Stand Rock...the rocks that made the Dells famous...this guy named H.H. Bennett in the late 1800's (I think) was a photograher and he took pictures of the Dells. Then he invented this camera that would take pictures of moving objects, but no one believed that it would work, so he had his 15 year old son jump across these rocks to prove that he didn't pose in the middle of the picture...he entered it into a contest, it won, people wanted to come see the beautiful rock formations...and voila...you have the "Waterpark Capital of the World"...They don't let people jump across it anymore...just a dog...
This was one of our stops on the boat tour "Witches Gulch" It was really cool! It was just these cavern-like areas where the rocks were really close together. The temperature dropped about 10 degrees while you were in there. It felt nice! The pictures on the bottom are of Jarrod exiting "Spooky Lane" out into the "Bathroom/Concession Stand Area" and the other one if of him posing...after I said "Jarrod LOOK!" That's the only way to get him to pose...:)
More to come later!
